Why Brand Values Should Always Be Your Starting Place.

When we work on client accounts, one of the most important questions we ask is 'what does your brand value?'

Brand values help us determine what's most important for your brand and thus set a North Star for us to strive for. These also help us better align your brand with customers who hold similar values.

If you've never thought about your brand values, I encourage you to start. As a business owner, you are going to have to make a lot of choices - sometimes even tough choices! However, when you have core brand values to embody that constantly remind you of what's important to your business and the people you're serving, making the right decision becomes an effortless task. Not only that, you can also live with your choices knowing they're informed by principles that are aligned with your brand's purpose.

So let me ask you, what does your brand value?

Below is a list of some of the top brand values, organized by category. Try to select 3-5 that resonate and accurately define what you do and why you do it.

Once you have your brand values defined, the next step is having every area of your business embody your brand values (think: your external marketing, your internal processes, your offers, your messaging and more).
